FSPCA PCQI Training
Freshield Food Safety offers live online training courses. A popular option is the FDA-recognized Preventive Controls for Human Food curriculum in the blended format, commonly known as PCQI Training. What is the Blended Option of FSPCA PCQI Training? With this option, you are able to participate in Part 1 at your leisure online remotely and then connect with us via Zoom during your scheduled Part 2. This option uses FSPCA curriculum approved by FDA and the scheduled Part 2 portion is only 1 day. You’re able to connect with a live instructor to ask questions while also interacting with other participants who have signed up for the same Part 2 session. To learn more about this course, visit the FSPCA website.
Attending one of our FSPCA PCQI trainings will prepare you for compliance with the FSMA Preventive Controls Rule. During this course you will learn the ways to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive food safety system. FSPCA’s PCQI training is one way to become a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) by 21 CFR 117.180. The training materials we use for PCQI certificate training online are from the standardized FSPCA curriculum recognized by the FDA. All of our PCQI training is registered with the FSPCA.
FAQs
-
The PCQI training for the blended course option uses standardized curriculum that was developed by the FSPCA. This curriculum is recognized by the FDA.
-
Successfully completing this course is one way to meet the requirements for a “preventive controls qualified individual.”
-
-
There is no official accreditation or course endorsement required for a PCQI course to be considered legitimate. The FDA also does not legally require a course for a specific organization to become a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI).
They do, however, ask that courses include the FDA’s Standard Curriculum and Freshield Food Safety’s PCQI Certification Online does include the FDA’s curriculum.
-
Technically, there is no accredited certification program for PCQIs. What does exist is a standard training curriculum developed under the direction of the FDA, and that curriculum is included in Freshield Food Safety’s PCQI Certification Online.
When food safety and quality professionals claim they are “PCQI certified,” what they mean is that they’ve earned a certificate showing that they’ve completed training.
